Make a Mark Enrichment Grants
Make a Mark is centered around funding grant applications made by the educative community. Over the past years many grants have been accepted and funded. Please look to the list below to see the grants that have been fulfilled. Every year, Make a Mark will receive grant applications and accept many. Make a Mark of Region 10 is pleased to announce that six grants, totaling $4,700.00, were awarded for the 2020-2021 school year! Scroll further down the page to see more information!
Applying for a Grant
The Region 10 Make A Mark Advisory Committee has two grant species. One is a rolling "mini grant" and the other is the is provided during the annual grant time. Currently we are accepting any applications for mini grants and are seeking grant applications for enrichment projects/activities for the 2021-2022 school year.
MAM is dedicated to sustaining and extending the excellence of the Region 10 School District by providing a source of funding for expanded educational opportunities for Region 10 students. The Advisory Committee is responsible for recommending grants to be used for creative and innovative instructional practices that will enhance the learning of students. Grants will be given to teachers, administrators, guidance counselors, other school personnel, or students who propose projects that would not normally be funded by the Region 10 Board of Education budget.

2020-2021 MAM Grant Recipients in Action
At Make a Mark, we love to see the grants that we provide go on to enact lasting and fruitful change in our community. Change that inspires others to follow their path and come up with creative and innovative ideas in order to improve our school system. This past grant cycle we gave out many grants to various teachers and groups. As the school year comes to a close, we wanted to take a look at the recipients of our grants and share just exactly how they were able to use our help to transform their ideas into realities.

Description: Michele worked with four o the least engaged and two of the most engaged 4th grade readers from both Harwinton Consolidated School and Lake Garda. The Group read and discussed the Nutmeg book "Born to Fly" over an 8 week period during the summer of 2013. The book study ended with a trip to the New England Air Museum. |
